In the past, the only way to carry out liposculpture used to involve the destruction of the adipose tissue by means of surgical liposuction.
This procedure is based on the removal of adipose tissue through surgery. Unlike liposuction, the aim of this treatment is to destroy adipocytes in a painless and non-invasive way. Unlike other treatments, it offers multiple benefits: There is no need for hospitalization, surgery, anaesthetics or postsurgical examinations; besides, the skin becomes smooth and even, with no marks or scars. The treatment itself is carried out in the doctor´s office on the stretcher. As soon as the treatment is over, the patient can go back to his/her habitual activities.

Ultrasound liposuction:

  • It is safe
  • It is painless
  • It is non invasive
  • It is selective
  • It has a long lasting effect

Ultrasound liposuction is a non-invasive method that works with high frequency waves. Such waves produce an agitation effect, which generates microbubbles. These bubbles bring about a reaction -friction- which produces an increase in temperature in the area to be treated. Thus, the microbubbles implode and fat cells disintegrate, since they are exposed to extreme pressure, and turn into a liquid substance made up mainly of triglycerides. The fat released is metabolized by the body and transported towards the liver through the lymphatic system. This organ processes the fat and eliminates it in the same way the fat from food is.
The Process:

  • Ultrasound liposuction technology applies acoustic (ultrasonic) waves in order to destroy the fat cells; a predetermined amount of ultrasonic energy is used on the subdermic adipose layer so the membrane of the adipocytes breaks apart.
  • The mechanical effect makes it easy for the adipose tissue to break. The adjacent tissues (blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, skin, nerves) are not affected by the process and remain unalterable.

Who is Cavitation Suitable for?
This treatment is specially indicated for those patients with normal weight or who are slightly overweight who want to get rid of unwanted fat deposits from internal and external thighs, abdomen, buttocks, hips, pectoral area (men), subgluteal fold and also, and even to correct possible asymmetries after a liposuction surgery. However, those patients who are obese or too thin must not be given this treatment since the fat to be eliminated must be from 1.5 to 3 cm thick. The loss of centimetres will be noticed 3-4 weeks after the treatment starts, as the fat that has been disintegrated is eliminated through the lymphatic system.
How is the Treatment Applied?
First of all, the lipid profile of the patient must be determined. In order to do this, the patient must be examined so as to specify the type of fat and where it is located. Once the area to be treated is determined, the therapist selects the time (5-20 minutes depending on the case), power, frequency and repetitiveness relation according to the area to be treated.
When the treatment is over, a slight reduction of volume will be perceived. The loss of centimetres, however, will be noticed as fat is eliminated. In one session, 1-2 cm may be reduced.
1. To reduce the body contour and volume of fat.
2. To achieve a long lasting effect without leaving marks.
3. To destroy the adipose tissue and reduce the cells in the area; thus, the potential accumulation of fat in the area is reduced as well. Once the session is over, the patient can go back to their habitual activities. The number of sessions always depends on the patient and the volume of fat in the different parts of the body.
